You missed it
Last night I had my first really serious McCain attack.
I’m not even going to describe what set it off, but I was about three glasses into a bottle of cabernet and I just came to the blog and threw down a profanity-laced post expressing my total contempt for McCain.
A little while later I deleted it, not because I didn’t hit the nail right on the head, but because it was just too much of an outburst.
Whatever happens with this year’s election, which already feels like it has gone on longer than the actual Civil War, nothing good is likely to come from it. It’s a disaster in the making no matter which one of the candidates wins. We know what the Clintons are and what sort of public accommodations they should be occupying, and it’s not the White House for another go-around with their circus. We know how they act when they have power.
Obama is so callow and arrogant and such a hard Leftist that it would be like electing a combination of George McGovern and Malcolm X. (Yeah, I know that there are people who actually think that would be good. But it would not be good.)
And then there is McCain, who is a package of disasters waiting to happen. He is erratic, shallow, unprincipled, dishonest, and dangerous. I’m simply tired of watching him, and he’s the best of the three candidates.
In a few years, Americans are going to really miss George Bush who, though as flawed as the next man, had some there there.
