It’s already old news. Last week an Ulster County grand jury refused to indict former New Paltz school board president Don Kerr on charges related to the U.S. Post Office handing him a package, which he signed for, containing eight pounds of reefer. The package was addressed to someone else at the address on Main Street where Kerr has his business office.
I said all along that unless there was more evidence than Kerr simply agreeing to accept delivery of a package addressed to someone else, then Kerr had been arrested and charged for what might have been nothing more than the good faith act of being a neighbor.
Apparently the grand jury agreed.
Now, here’s the reading assignment for the local schadenfreude crowd.
