Obama is talking about the economy the way he once talked about Iraq

He’s preaching fear and loss, as if he were eager for the kind of defeat in the economic realm that eluded the Left in Iraq.

Presidents are not obliged to be cheerleaders, but they usually, at least, lay out an argument for cautious optimism.

Maybe when your father just walked out on you when you were a kid there’s a tendency to see the glass as empty, so you piss in it and then denounce it as “half-empty.”

Anyway, we can all be cautiously optimistic about the economy in his stead, and hope that the Sad Sack-in-Chief doesn’t get a compensating loss for his failure to get a loss in Iraq.
